Let's have a word...

Hi! My name is Michael, I'm 25 years old and a student of Musicology, Philosophy and Phonetics at the University of Cologne. During the last year my appointment schedule nearly blowed up, because on the other hand there are two more jobs to do. I'm also a freelancer at the WDR - that's where the money comes from- and I'm a writer and editor for the online music magazine Crazewire Germany -that's where the pleasure comes from. I'm absolutely drowned in sound and can't get enough of it. But now I think it's time for me to discover something which I've just observed in a distant way. Well, say hello to my blog.

For all of you who might think that this is just a New Year's pledge. It´s not. Happy New Year...
I needed to buy a new lighter yesterday. So I went over to Mrs. & Mr. Chen, my favourite kiosk owners around. “Same procedure as every time”, I thought. I will ask for an one Euro lighter and I will get a dickey one which will only work a few times. But this time things were different. Mrs. Chen was so nice giving me an electrical lighter for the same price. “Nice”, I thought. She also pointed out that this lighter has got a flash light or something. “Hurray, I don’t need that but it is quiet nice”, I thought this time.
By the time I had no idea what I really bought and Mrs. Chen for sure didn’t have one either. Later that day I was playing with my new lighter, trying to figure the flash light out. While pointing with it on everything around it looked curious, not like it was supposed to be. I looked for a shaded area in my room and I realized that I had bought my very own naked-lighter-pocket-beamer. Hurray!

This is weird. Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg our minister of economics affairs celebrated AC/DC at Munich Olympic Stadium last month. While looking at this I can’t beliefe how stiff this guy acts. Come on, Theo! Kick it!

Some things are simply too beautiful, than could be false.

Boys are back in town.
I’ve got attandance. My small and furry friend Smurf came over for having a stay for a week. This will be fun.

Sometimes music only seems to fit when it comes to your life in the right moment.  The chorus of Japandroids’ “Wet Hair” goes likes this:
“She had wet hair / Say what you will / I don’t care / I couldn’t resist”
Recently I have been in a similar situation but I could resist. Now I wish I couldn’t. Anyhow, listening to this tune makes feel great! Japandroids will kick ass and don’t you dare to miss them when they are touring in Germany. Have fun with this one via last.fm!

Laughing, talking, smiling beningly.
Right in front of a kiosk it started with the words: „I’m a bit jealous, you know“. „Why?“. „It’s just because I was the one who would love to have your phone number“. „That’s what I wanted too. You can have it, if you want to“. We moved along laughing, talking, smiling beningly. Light rail transits passed us while wondering about this one-dimensional guy we met before. We arrived, still beeing in conversation. Standing there, taking a few sips of beer. Laughing, talking, smiling beningly. Suddenly touching hands. Romance started for just one night.
Can we meet again?

NRW here we go!

I will meet a friend of mine in an our (12 p.m.) for having a rail journey. We thought that it would be nice testing our NRW-students tickets, trying to travel the verges of our province. Still we don’t know where to go. Maybe Paderborn, Meschede, Siegen, Aachen, Wesel, Münster or Bielefeld are some options. If you have any idea where to go, let me know…

P.S.: This has nothing to do with Ascension Day!

That’s what I’m feeling right now. Awsome song with an raw attitude which makes me lose my mind!

It’s time for even more derbies

A month ago Fabian and I went to Cologne footbal stadion to watch the ultimate derby in Germany’s second footbal league: 1. FC Köln vs. VFL Borussia Mönchengladbach. The game ended with a draw. Fabian’s club did the advancement to the premiership a week ago. Today my club from Cologne did the advancement too. We beat our dircet competitor Mainz with 2:0. Now I’m looking forward for even more derbies to watch with Fabian. And I also hope that my brother will be with us next time too.
